Performances
The "Performances" section presents new representations of journal performances in any medium: presentations of journal articles in public, novel configurations of journal metrics, clever hiding of journal information, and so on. We allow for nearly any format of textual, audio, or visual data, so do not let your ideas be constrained to simply plain text.

Peer Review Process
All issues excepting the inaugural issue are peer reviewed.
Journal of Journal Performance Studies welcomes any representation pertinent to the study of journal performance(s). Submissions will be peer reviewed with an attention to how the submission advances new forms of intellectual presentation in the networked environment. This means that submissions need not hew to standard conventions; thus new forms of peer review criteria will need to be developed.
While the peer review process will be conducted double-blind, final acceptance of a submission will require a public statement by the reviewer(s). This statement can be seen as a commentary on the submission and will be published alongside the submission. Statements can take the form of text, audio, or visual accompaniments. The public statement is meant to provide an opening on the peer review process, relieving it of its rarefied and exclusive air, a cloud that all-too-often functions to retain the status-quo.
We worry that too much interesting work is left by the wayside in journal submission processes, thus we encourage reviewers to suggest for publication works that "fail" in interesting ways as well. The public statement should focus on how the work "fails" in a manner that is important for others to know. Authors will have to agree to their work being published in this manner before the submission is made public.
These peer review guidelines are subject to change throughout the duration of the journal's existence, and should be seen as a work in progress, an attempt to develop appropriate and non-alienating procedures necessary for networked scholarly communication.
