Francesco Michi

Francesco Michi lives and works in Florence where he graduated in Philosophy and then in Electronic Music. In 1982, together with Mechi Cena and Jorge Martinez, started FORMAT – architecture sonore, a group of musicians who operated following two main directions: the utilization of the devices and materials which the technology, also the poor one, offers to the daily use, and the study of the acoustic environment and its modifications. By himself and with Format, he published several papers and realized, in Italy and abroad, installations, performances, sonic sculptures, musical and sound machines, concerts, all of them focused on acoustic ecology and acoustic design.
