Anne Galloway

Wellington, New Zealand

“My research is in the area of more-than-human design, which brings together creative practice, science and technology studies, and anthropology to model relations between humans and nonhumans.

Recent and ongoing projects include speculative design for meat and wool in an Internet of Things, creative methods for public engagement around native wildlife conservation, and using sensory ethnography to understand the differences between how farmers and machines manage livestock.

I regularly present my research to international audiences and publish broadly. You can read about some of it in Gizmodo’s Abler blog: Knitting Bones With Fact and Fiction and in this interview on anthropology + design for Savage Minds.”
